BOTTOM LINE:
There are plenty of places to get a job. There are very few places to build a career across multiple fire disciplines with real advancement. We are filling positions now—and we are looking for people who intend to stay, grow, and lead.

WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT?
This isn’t just another firefighting role. It’s a career accelerator—giving you exposure to diverse
emergency scenarios, continuous learning, and the chance to make a real impact in both industry and
community settings.

At USS, you will:
  • Work industrial, wildfire, and municipal 911 fire response / rescue / medical co-response
  • Gain broad, real-world experience across disciplines
  • Train continuously with NFPA-based programming
  • Build a résumé that actually positions you for long-term fire service careers

The ideal candidate will be a “Hat-Trick” (possess all three of our most desired certifications):
  • NFPA – Certified Firefighter
  • Alberta College of Paramedics Registered EMR (or at least proof of a successful COPR examination)
  • Unrestricted 3Q (DZ) Driver’s License.

With at least two-of the above, we can get you started on your fulltime - permanent position!

ADVANCEMENT IS NOT THE EXCEPTION—IT’S THE PLAN

We are not hiring to fill seats. We are hiring to build leadership.
  • Clear pathways from Firefighter → Lieutenant → Captain → Chief Officer
  • Expedited advancement tracks for high performers
  • Long-term roles for those willing to commit and grow

There are real vacancies at multiple levels right now. The question is can you push yourself to achieve the next level? ALL promotions are based on certification and performance – not seniority.

If you’ve been waiting for an opportunity to move up—this is it.

Ready to take your firefighting career to the next level?

YES, you ARE up for the challenge!
